Dear Penbank community,

Welcome back to the new year! I hope you and your families have had a restful and enjoyable break and feel energised for the year ahead. I have certainly enjoyed our beautiful local environment here on the Peninsula and a few weeks up on the south coast of NSW, with plenty of swimming, bushwalking and camping. We live in a beautiful country!

As we begin another exciting school year, I would like to warmly welcome all the new families and students joining the Penbank family this year. We are thrilled to have you as part of our vibrant community and look forward to getting to know each of you throughout this journey. I encourage everyone to make the effort to introduce themselves to our new community members. We know that a warm, welcoming atmosphere is key to building lasting connections, and we’re excited to see the Penbank spirit continue to grow.

We also welcome new teachers to our team:

  • Esther Pither will be joining our 3 / 4 team
  • Jackie Setterfield will be teaching our Year 2 Group as a member of our P – 2 team
  • Sari Newton will be teaching Indonesian as a part of our specialist team
  • Sarina Canning is returning from maternity leave, teaching Year 5 & 6 groups library, as a part of our specialist team

At Penbank, we are committed to providing an enriching and engaging environment, and we look forward to sharing the unique opportunities and experiences that come with a Woodleigh education. Families are encouraged to engage with our weekly events and communication. Each week, the Letter Home on the Woodleigh Schoolstream App will share important information, so please read this each week when it arrives. School Meeting is held each Thursday morning in the Hall at 8.50am. All parents are welcome to attend these meetings, which give an excellent insight into our values, learning opportunities and initiatives across the school.

We are thrilled to kick off this school year with a renewed sense of purpose and enthusiasm. We will continue to focus on fostering a supportive, dynamic, and inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive. We look forward to seeing our students’ growth in all academic, social, and emotional areas.

To ensure a seamless return for students, please read over this key information, and feel free to reach out with any questions.

Wishing you and your children an excellent start to the school year.

Warm regards,

ANDY KHOZA
Head of Penbank Campus
