Around the Grounds

Kitchen Garden
Minimbah's kitchen garden is a beautiful example of learning following the rhythm of nature. Students engage in every stage of the cycle: planting the seeds, nurturing their growth, collecting the produce, cooking and sharing meals. Through this slow and intentional process, they build genuine knowledge rooted in experience. A living classroom where patience, responsibility, curiosity and care grow alongside the plants.

Winter Lightning Premiership: Year 5 & 6
The first week back after the school holidays and Penbank has hit the ground running, kicking, shooting, cheering. The Winter Lightning Premiership on Tuesday was very cold, but scarcely a child on this earth wears weather-appropriate clothing, so shorts and singlets didn't seem to be a problem. It's a day for fun, some wins, but mostly camaraderie and a good time.

And the wrap-up from PE Pete:
It was an awesome day and our kids efforts, behaviour and sportsmanship were exemplary!

Year 5 Assembly
Minimbah assembly this week was filled to the brim with the hard-hitting current affairs we've come to expect from this vibrant lot. Year 5s interviewed some of the notorious faces, including Year 6 students who jumped on a plane without their families and flew to the far-away Green School in Indonesia.
"How was it to get on a plane without your family?" Nerve-wracking, of course. But they did it and they loved it.
Amongst other headlines, Kindness - What Does it Mean? And 100 Days of School, a milestone for our Preps and their families, is nearing.
Stay tuned.

Chicago - Teen Edition
Woodleigh's Senior School production of Chicago is coming up at the end of August. Rehearsals are well underway, with students and staff giving it the old Razzle Dazzle. You can book your tickets now (they're selling fast)
All That Jazz
Member for Dunkley
And lastly, local Member for Dunkley, Jodie Belyea, donated native trees to the Woodleigh community and today they made their way into the soil.

Until we go Around the Grounds again next week...
