Winter Musicale

Oh, what a night. How does it keep getting better and better? Last night's Musicale theme was Romance, and it delivered; a winged cherub wafted down the hall stairs, a bow and red-tipped arrow ready to aim, fire and charm. Every Breath You Take, Somebody to Love, Easy Lover, Bad Romance and many more songs, a little something for everyone to love, the lucky and the unlucky.
So much skill, so much hard work and talent in the room. Heartstrings, unlocked.

Work Experience

This week, our Year 10 students are undertaking their Work Experience, and there was a hefty handful at their very own Penbank and Minimbah.
When you love your school so much that you consider a career there, that is, to stay even when you don't have to - something's going well.

Others are off far and wide this week, city and country, we'll have lots of reports of workplace shenanigans next week.

Old MacDonald Day at Penbank was a bustling ECC farm dress-up. The kids were happy as pigs in mud, busier than roosters at sunrise and wilder than sheep in roller skates.

They spent the day learning about life on the farm, milking rubber gloves and chopping potatoes. It's tough out there, working the land at Penbank.

Minimbah Music

A question we're often asked at Woodleigh is how our students become so comfortable in front of a crowd and on stage. From the very earliest days of a Woodleigh education, using your voice (figuratively and literally) in front of your peers is everyday. From Bunjil concerts at Penbank, Soirees and this week's music concert at Minimbah, extraordinary events like last night's Senior Campus Musicale make sense. The bravery and ability to get up and sing your heart out or play your instrument in front of hundreds begins in primary school.

Here is Thursday morning's Music Concert at Minimbah. Some of our Year 12 students visited to share their music love, and pave the way for younger cohorts to move through the musical ranks with ease.
