Millie and Olive in Sydney

Harvard Model United Nations Australia (HMUN) was held in Sydney from 28 May to 1 June. It is a four-day international relations simulation for high school student delegates to gain insight into the workings of the United Nations and the dynamics of international relations by assuming the roles of world leaders and international decision-makers.

Millie and Olive were Woodleigh's incredible representatives. Two Year 8 girls with endless energy for opportunity. They will be filling us in on all the details very soon. We congratulate them both and are in awe of their willingness to do things that matter.

While they were away, they made a vlog of their time. Here is one.

The Ripple Effect

AFL player Nathan Lovett-Murray co-created The Ripple Effect, a film that explores the profound and lasting impact of racism in Australian sport and society. He visited Woodleigh and spoke to the Year 9, 10, 11 cohort before they watched the film.

Debating

Woodleigh's debaters continue to perform well, but this week, illness and forfeits also became factors among competing teams. We'll update everyone as the season progresses, but please congratulate Allegra, Hywel and Charlie if you see them around the grounds.

Coding

The world of coding; Minimbah Year 3 and 4 students have been using Swift Playgrounds on their iPads to learn to control digital environments. The kids are building fundamental coding skills - and quickly - in a fun and hands-on way. Next stop, world domination.

Reconciliation BBQ

Students ran a fundraising BBQ to help fund the Irrultja trip. Students from Irrultja School FaceTimed for a tour around the school, excitement building for a possible visit to Woodleigh. To donate, see here!
