Welcome to Woodleigh, Natalie McLennan
As Term 4 began and we negotiated the new COVID protocols and procedures, our new Head of Senior Campus started her time at Woodleigh School. Natalie McLennan joined Woodleigh's Leadership Team after 15 years at Mentone Grammar, and she has already had a positive impact in her time at our School.
A real 'people person', Nat patiently awaited the return of staff and students to our School. Her enthusiasm was overwhelming when our Year 12 students returned for the GAT, and she was very eager to meet them and introduce herself. I know Nat will take every opportunity to be available to staff and students during Term 4 and I'm equally sure she'll be a regular at the crossing, greeting students each morning.
Excited by Woodleigh
After 15 years at Mentone Grammar, I stepped out of my comfort zone. Mentone was my safe place – but it was time to move on, and I am genuinely excited to be part of a community where Respect for Self, Respect for Others and Respect for The Environment underpin everything we stand for. Personalised learning, student agency, a focus on well-being and formative feedback, and the development of lifelong learning capabilities strongly align with my personal educational philosophies. I'm also really enjoying being greeted by the birds each morning, a family of ducks with ducklings and cockatoos singing at the same time every lunchtime – all very different to Mentone!
I am passionate about education and excited by Woodleigh's culture, where positive relationships and learning experiences are acknowledged as being central to the quality of our students' education.
