Perberkoong and festivities
Coming together as a whole school, in the beautiful Bush Chapel of the Senior Campus, Perberkoong (an Aboriginal word meaning ‘come together’) was another delightful occasion to reflect on the year.
Beginning with a smoking ceremony, parents and friends were able to sit back and enjoy the tranquillity of the evening.
Depicting stories from long ago, Penbank students enacted the Bunjil story. This was followed by the traditional Nativity presented by Minimbah children in Foundation to Year 2. Musical performances and reflections by students highlighted the value they place on their school experiences and relationships with teachers.
Perberkoong was the final opportunity for Year 12 students to be represented. Their many achievements were acknowledged at the recent Reflection Breakfast and Valedictory.
It is always a pleasure to catch up with past Penbank students and parents and share in their aspirations and dreams for the future.
The Arty Market at the Senior Campus is also a thoroughly enjoyable occasion to meander through the school grounds and do a pre-Christmas shop! An occasion enjoyed by all age groups
We thank Andrea Khoza for her co-ordination of Perberkoong and to all other staff involved in the Year 12 ‘send-offs’ and the Arty Market.
