Penbank Patch is Springing!

Our winter crop has been amazing; the garden is thriving despite the freezing winter. A huge thank you to all of our Penbank Patch families who have shown wonderful commitment to tending their plots, weeding, planting and harvesting. Your care and enthusiasm are what make this space so special.

Now that spring has arrived, we’re excited to see what the warm weather will bring. One of our hopes for this spring is to grow more than we need - an abundant harvest that can be shared with the wider Penbank School community. 

More than anything, the Penbank Patch has become a beautiful little community within our school - a place for families to connect, share, learn and enjoy being outdoors together.

Dressing up for Book Week is always serious business, but this year there were celebrations on our celebrations. Our beloved Justin is hitting the road for new teaching adventures up north. Justin has been a part of the furniture for a very long time at Penbank, so it’s a big change for everyone. We wish you all the success, Justin; you will be sorely missed.

MYP Bake a Wish

Three of our Year 9 students took the opportunity to raise money for Make-A-Wish Australia by running their own Bake a Wish stall, baked goods all made by them, at the matinee event of Minimbah’s Dare to Dream performance. If anyone knows anything about making a sale, pinpointing your audience is 101, and what better audience than doting grandparents, parents and younger, hungrier siblings, coming to see their favourite people on stage.

Homemade cookies, frog-in-a-pond, brownies, chocolatey, gooey and delicious - good for all. 

Around the Track

Athletics!
Everyone is good at something; some are excellent at something and all the kids are on the cheer squad. No matter how they participated, they had fun. Those who made it to Districts will hit the track again on Monday, so more news on that is coming soon.

We’ve been developing Washed up, a community project focused on reducing litter, collecting rubbish and raising awareness about the impact litter can have on our oceans and environment.
