Rock Quiz
Question
Name the puppet always winding up Molly Meldrum on Australia’s greatest ever variety show, Hey Hey It’s Saturday?
Answer
a. Dickie Knee
b. Jimmy Legs
c. Tommy Ache
d. Rusty Bottoms
In the words of our beloved host, Molly, 'do yourselves a favour' - this year's Rock Quiz was in celebration of 50 years of Penbank, and it was a monster; twice as big in numbers and space, with as much hilarity as ever. Molly Meldrum and his hat, Richard Wilkins and his frosted tips - a power duo hosting the event into the wee hours. Probably a few Ned Aches on Sunday...
a. Dickie Knee.
'So there you go,' till next year. Be there or Be Square.

Aladdin Jr
Two Arabian Nights and one Arabian Matinee, Minimbah's Year 6s smashed it out of the park this week. After months of rehearsing this classic tale of Aladdin Jr, the kids will miss the magic and camaraderie. A dedicated team behind the scenes, as well as those in the spotlight, Minimbah Productions are a mainstay of the kids' junior school years. Thank you, Minimbah, thank you, audience. Three wishes? 1. Do it all again. 2. And again. 3. And again again.

Fathers Day at Penbank
And that's a brekky wrap on Father's Day. Brekky wrap? With bacon and eggs? Dad jokes. Thank you to all our PFGs for hosting gatherings that bring us together. In a busy term (and life), a morning catch-up and bacon and eggs, coffee, with the people who share our community is a welcome event in anyone's books. Penbank's Father's Day breakfast was footy colours themed, a risky time of year to bring footy loyalties to breakfast, but all was ok...

Soiree
On Tuesday evening, Penbank's choirs and ensembles took to the stage for the annual Soiree. It was a second full house for Penbank in under a week - this time, the students took the stage, parents watching and listening. Music is such a part of the culture of Penbank, and the outcome of that speaks for itself.

Allegra

If you were speaking to Members of Parliament about the need for young voices to have true and fair representation, you would want that message to resonate with your audience. If you were delivering such a message as a representative of the Commission for Children and Young People’s Youth Council, you would want to do as Woodleigh Year 11 student Allegra Moloney did: be clear. Consulting with children and young people is not difficult – it’s necessary.
Drawing a comparison between the lack of voice young people experience daily, and “that sticky feeling in your chest” you experience when you have lost your voice due to illness, Allegra spoke about a generation ready to engage, contribute and lead. Now, it’s up to our policymakers to include and empower young people in shaping the future they will inherit. Watch. This. Space.
Until we go Around the Grounds again next week...
