Y3 & 4 Update

We have been so busy in the Year 3 & 4 Learning Community. Before lockdown, there were a few key events that were just too wonderful not to share.

Firstly, thank you, Mr Roden, for your incredible efforts in training and support our Cross-Country students to such success at the District Cross Country. A massive congratulations to all the students who competed, completed the race, and achieved so much success. The teamwork, encouragement and support you showed each other was just incredible. It was beautiful also to finish the day with a victory for Woodleigh.

Please enjoy a selection of photos from the incredible day.

The tables were set beautifully in our Literacy Restaurant. Students were dining on a selection of books shortlisted for Book Clubs. The students have reviewed a range of delicacies and made their selections, and arranged them into Book Clubs to share a love of literacy, discover and learn together when we are settled back in the classroom. The books were well received, and the table service given five stars. Well done, Bron, Mr Clapham and Mr Kenner.

The Royal Botanical Gardens Cranbourne excursion was a special day, and the students raved about the experience. The wind was strong, but we were buffered by nature, and as the sun came out, it was so lovely to be out and about and exploring the massive premises. We significantly built upon our knowledge of plants and inspired by their work to salvage and protect native flora. Students heard how to develop a sustainable relationship with nature, sample Bush Foods, learn about Indigenous artifacts, paint their hands with ochre, and leave their mark at the gardens. A massive thank you to the parent volunteers who helped make the day such a memorable excursion.

We look forward to seeing you all face-to-face at the next available opportunity. In the meantime, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to our incredible families supporting your children with access to remote learning and the CLP. The fantastic learning that is taking place would not be possible without your behind-the-screens work.
