Family Zone Update
As part of our ongoing commitment to the welfare of our students, we have partnered with one of Australia’s leading cyber safety platforms, Family Zone. Family Zone is a unique solution that is designed to protect students from viewing inappropriate website content and using apps deemed as unsafe or a distraction, both during the school day and out of school hours. There is no cost to families for Family Zone.
During School Hours
To ensure all students are protected online and adhering to our IT policy, we have activated Family Zone’s Mobile Zone app on your child’s school MacBook. This will mean that the school’s internet filtering policies will be applied to the device during school hours.
Outside of school hours
Outside of school hours, you’re in charge. You manage what your child can see online and when, via your Family Zone account. Your rules will apply. However, if you do not want Family Zone controls to operate on the school MacBook outside of school hours please contact email@example.com and we will action your request as soon as possible.
To see how to manage your child’s device from your Family Zone account, watch the video below or click on this link.
More information can be found at the Woodleigh Cyber Safety Hub. By scrolling down the main page, you will also find a range of resources including a link to the ‘Woodleigh School – Getting Started With Family Zone Webinar’ video (from 2019).
