At Woodleigh, our core literacy and numeracy programs are complemented by an extensive range of co-curricular Sports, Arts, Activities, Camps, LOTE and Cultural Programs. Perhaps most unique in these upper-primary year levels is the opportunity to undertake camps and study tours at Green Camp in Bali, Canberra and the Wugularr community in the Northern Territory.
We add another class of students – bringing new energy and ideas. This wide range of programs and real-world experiences means that Years 5 and 6 students at Woodleigh discover and follow their passions while growing in a culture of mutual respect, cultural freedom and inclusion.
Skills-Based Curriculum
As an IB School, students commencing in Year 5 will embark on the final stage of the Primary Years Program (PYP) and our highly experienced, qualified staff are here to support you through this transition.
Innovative Homestead Program
Both the Minimbah and Penbank Campuses operate an innovative Homestead program. These are longstanding, mindful learning communities that encourage the development of personal responsibility. Homestead gives students a unique level of independence in their junior years, all in a safe and familiar environment.
Real Preparation for Senior Years
During their final years of Primary School, Woodleigh students get to know their way around the Senior Campus.
By the time they arrive for their first day of Year 7, they are confident and comfortable. Students come together at the Senior Campus for regular cross-campus and peer-teaching activities, including whole-school musicales, cultural days, festivals, sports and excursions.
As an International Baccalaureate school offering Primary Years and Middle Years Programmes, there is academic continuity from Year 6 to Year 7, ensuring a smooth transition to secondary education. On the first day of Year 7, our students are ready to hit the ground running.

By fostering a supportive and informative atmosphere, Woodleigh's Junior Campuses aim to make the transition as seamless as possible, encouraging students to feel confident and excited about the shift to secondary school. The transition program may involve tours of our campuses, meetings with staff and information sessions on the curriculum and school routines. Our programs are thoughtfully designed to support students as they embark on this new and exciting adventure.
