Congratulations, Thanks and Happy Holidays!
I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to the entire Minimbah community for your incredible support during this second half of the year. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as Head of Campus and to be honest I will feel a little sad when it is over! I hope you enjoy the following photos of the wonderful times we've had over the last week or so.
Wishing all our Minimbah Family a wonderful Christmas, New Year and holiday. I look forward to seeing you all in 2019.
Deputy Principal – Acting Head of Minimbah Campus
Congratulations Year 6 2018
On Monday evening, parents and friends gathered together in the Woodleigh Hall at our Senior Campus to share in the celebrations of the Year 6 Graduation. The theme for the evening was “Journey”. It was lovely to hear the children reflect on their own personal journeys, a true reflection of what makes Woodleigh so special. Throughout the ceremony, the children were given an opportunity to reflect on their primary school years, while also looking forward. The staff also enjoyed sharing their messages with the children. What an honour it was to be part of their special evening.
We congratulate Lisa Coxon on her new role as our Early Childhood Educational Leader. Lisa will be working across both Minimbah and Penbank Early Childhood Centres. Lisa will be based at Penbank Campus for one day a week next year. We welcome Milly Brodie, Tahlia Irvine and Heather Whitehead to the ECC team in 2019. They will be working in our 3-year-old group. Milly will also be covering lunch breaks in our 4-year-old program. We are very excited to have them as part of the team!
We also welcome Jo Jillet to the Minimbah Team as an Educational Support Assistant. Jo comes to us from Hampton Park Primary School with a wealth of experience working with children in all year levels.
Farewell, dear friend, we will miss you Cinders
We have been blessed to have Cinders as part of our school for the last three years. Cinders has been an integral staff member providing support and guidance in her unique special way. Our fury friend has given so much enrichment in our school just by being her wonderful waggy self. We thank the Boundys for sharing their beloved Cinders with us and wish them all the best with their new endeavours.
We will be blessed all over again next year and would like to welcome Merlin, who will be joining Minimbah in 2019.
Thank you, Minimbah
A BIG thank you to all the community at Minimbah for making me feel so welcome. I am so grateful for the opportunity to have spent Term 4 supporting students, staff and families while Aviv has been on long service leave. Aviv will be returning in 2019 and it sounds like he is having an amazing time in America. It has been a great privilege to soak in the amazing essence and atmosphere of Woodleigh and share the quality and expertise that is so graciously shared. This school is truly unique, with its amazing scaffolding enabling all to flourish. It’s something to be proud of. To all the incredible staff and families, I felt you enabled me to flourish and I am truly grateful.
Best wishes and keep flourishing.

PFG 2018 – what a year!
The PFG has had a very productive year! A massive thank you to its members, helpers and supporters who make it possible.
What was new for 2018?
Welcome morning tea: A great success! Locked in as an annual event, happening again next year.
Birthday gifts for Specialist Teachers (and Cinders, of course). Classroom Teachers' birthdays are celebrated with their class. This year the PFG acknowledged Specialist Teachers' birthdays with a small gift – greatly appreciated and will continue next year.
Pizza Parties: An easy end-of-year celebration and way of saying thank you to the students, teachers and parents. Let's see how it goes this week... and if it will continue in the future.
What we spent the money on this year
- Resilience Project – $4536.18
- Art sculptures in the front entrance – $1948.22
- Resources needed for Read Write Inc. – $4302.75
This year Minimbah has implemented a new Literacy program, Read Write Inc. The program is a synthetic phonetic approach to the teaching of spelling, reading and writing. It has been implemented in the Foundation–Year 2 classes and is also being utilised, where needed, in the Year 3–6 classrooms. The PFG have provided funds for resources to help with the successful implementation of Read Write Inc.
