The curriculum at Woodleigh School (both academic & cocurricular) should encompass the following:
- the essential skills of listening, communicating, reading and enumerating, along with the capacity to use modern technology wisely to enhance these processes
- an appreciation of the nature of learning and an enthusiasm to engage in life long learning
- an appreciation of the natural world
- an appreciation of the key elements of our culture and its history, along with an awareness of contemporary issues and trends and Australia’s place in the world today
- an awareness of the key principles and practices of Australian democracy
- an appreciation of literature, music, drama, art, and movement
- an awareness of a range of other significant culture and customs
- an awareness of (at least) the fundamentals of contemporary scientific and technological knowledge
- an understanding of self, including physical and psychological health, a realistic sense of personal achievements, a set of valid personal values, and an awareness of what elements in life are likely to lead to a sense of fulfilment and satisfaction.
