Reporting

At Woodleigh, the reporting process includes:

  • ongoing self assessment by the student
  • a teacher’s written report
  • a parent comment sheet.

This process has been developed in the belief that the quality of education improves when each of these three parties work together. Teachers’ reports, which are addressed to the student, relate to the goals of the learning programs, provide descriptions of the aims and work requirements of the course and describe students’ strengths and weaknesses in relation to these.

The student’s self assessment is consistent with our policy of encouraging students to take a measure of responsibility for their own progress. For many students, it provides a useful opportunity to reflect on their progress and achievement and to acquaint teachers with any difficulties or problems associated with their studies. Parents are invited to respond to reports on the sheet entitled ‘Parent Comment’ which accompanies the report.

There are 4 formal reports each year and 2 parent-teacher interview evenings for each year level.
